Saturday the 28th pa Silkeborg at the "Escobar" at 10pm.  More details to come.  Kom nu!!!!!  Bring some friends.
    Danish "Van of Doom"
  •  woke up at 3am on August 15th to catch a flight from SFO to the big ATL and waited stand-by in Georgia for the afternoon.  With some visualization and motherly blessings, we did, in fact catch a flight to Copenhagen!  We were promptly upgraded to 1st class and started in with the Champagne.   During sashimi and filet mignon we befriended the 1/2 Danish 1/2 Southern American flight crew and drank our way over the seas to arrive in Denmark rested and a bit hungover.  sat next to a 70-year-old dairy scientist who is responsible for the "50 percent milk output-per-cow increase we've seen in the past 30 years."  So naturally, he didn't drink as much as h beer as he did milk throughout the 9 hour flight.
We were greeted by a friend of mine, Thomas Winther who drove us directly to a polsevagn,  or "sausage wagon" where we scarfed bacon-wrapped sausages drenched in remoulade and fried onions.  Yea!  From there we went to his house and started drinking beers and ya know...it's kinda been a blur from there.  I just woke up from a day of sleep because the last thing i remember was Friday night in Odense...We are on tour with the coolest, craziest and most talented bands in Europe,  "The Foreign Resort" and "Kandy Kolored Tangerine."  after our amazing show at "Momentum" we went to a 500 yr- old viking pub at 2:30am. I think we exited the bar at 8am and then went to a girl called "Tena's" house and found some bacardi and Jameson.  We did drunk Tai chi in her yard and began doing front flips and diving into the bushes for a good rush while blasting Radiohead out of her kitchen.
After 2 hours of fake-sleep on her floor, we played a rockin show in Veijle, where a group of Danish kids lost their minds and Eli went crowd surfing.  All the while, tuborgs and carlsburgs were being quickly imbibed to keep our BAC levels at a nice, low....... hum.
Now, if you've heard that the Danes like to drink, you'll never, ever know what that means unless you yourself have been hospitalized because if an American attempts to keep up with a Dane, that is what will happen.  After our show in Veijle, we had to drive our van back to Copenhagen, which is a 3 hour journey .  The time was 2am.    Most bands would sleep for the trip home, considerining all 12 of us were on 2 hours of sleep and a pony-keg of beer each.  Nope. Instead, Bo,our amazing soundguy bamboozeled the club out of 2 bottles of Jager and Smirnoff. Not to mention alot of beers.  We took them from the the full-sized refrigerator in the Green room.  You see, all danish venues make sure there is plenty of food and even more beer for the bands backstage.  ( we even played in a music store during the afternoon and we were given organic fruit and beer!).  Fucking love this country!  Anyway, we left veijle at 2AM with plenty of alcohol and partied for 3 hours at 150 kph across the Danish night. BO was an amazing bartender in the van and kept the drinks comin.
At one point while bouncing around in the front seat, trying not to mouthpuke, i asked "mikkel" the singer for "The foriegn Resort" if he needed another beer and he said with a very serious face,
"no, i wanna wait for the next gas station so we and go in and do Jager-bombs!"  and so we did jager-bombs until the sun came up and we pulled into copenhagen around 5:30 am.
The was morning sun was blinding on the canal-waters of Nyhavn were Danish college kids were swimming and still burning the midnite oil. We passed on their invitations and went back to sleepy Gentofte to recoup for a danish meatball dinner.  more to come from this fairytale.  pics all and vids to come!  miss you all back home.
  • Mfa here....we are in the studio with producers Patterson and Jodoin. Engineered by Tommaso Colliva. We've moved on from Tecates to Jamison. Some bar-fights occurred.
  • My lord.  We arrived with 15 songs and have cut it down to 12 so far.   A week of fifteen hour days in a sweaty, little magical dungeon has yielded some of the most ambitious and heart-melting sounds we've ever created.  A cool, refreshing audio water-slide.  Is it rock?  Is it soul?  Is it pop? Is it rap-rock? (definitely not that one hahahaaaaa).  We don't what to call it.  You can do that for us later...
We do know that this has been life-changing week to say the least.  The angels that have helped us are numerous: Thanks all who have donated so far and those who haven't.  You are in our hearts all the same.  We are making this record with love and primitive energy.  We are recording at Stagg Street Studios in LA, ca.  Everyone has recorded here.  Our engineer in Tommy.  He recorded the last 2 "Muse" records.  He and Ryan are getting drum sounds right now with ross, our drum tech.  Ross did drums for Micheal Jacksons "BAD," Rolling stones and Tom Petty records.  It sounds really
good from the control room.  More to come....

    OUR PROCESS GOES LIKE THIS...

*Tracking:  Music for Animals goes into the studio and plays their songs to get great drum and bass sounds.  All great music has a strong foundation.

*Overdubs:  Music for Animals layers vocals, guitars, synths, pianos, shakers and cowbells on top of the drums and bass.

*Mixing:  Music for Animals goes away and let's producer, Michael Patterson (Beck, P-diddy, She want's revenge) do his magic.

*Mastering:  an untold artform that is beyond the scope of this email.

Completed record with your name in the liner notes for your donation.
